Project Descriptions

IN-PERSON

  1. Beach Sweep: Join us at the Gateway Recreational Area (Sandy Hook) and Old Bridge Waterfront Park to reduce and eliminate sources of litter that pollute our waters and beaches. The Beach Sweep is more than picking up trash from beaches. The data collected during the Beach Sweep turns a 90-minute program into a legacy of information to combat litter and other sources of pollutions by identifying and monitoring trends. The Beach Sweep helps find solutions to keep beaches clean and healthy for citizens and marine life; and the data is used to create federal, state, and local programs and laws to reduce litter in the environment.
  2. Park Clean-Up: Join us at Roosevelt Park in Edison, NJ as we clean up litter and improve habitats for wildlife who reside in the park. Your leaders will guide you through an interactive clean-up guaranteed to get you thinking about how one hour of park clean-up helps save the environment!

VIRTUAL

  1. Holocaust Survivor Speaker/Never Again Education Act: First you’ll hear a first-hand account of a Holocaust survivor and then you’ll hear about the Never Again Education Act and be inspired to question your peers’ education regarding the darkest period of time for the Jewish people. You’ll share the survivor’s story and write letters to your local school guidance counselors, administrators, and/or legislators with hopes of changing the way public schools teach about the Holocaust.
  2. Advocacy Training & Never Again Education Act: In this action-oriented session, we will acquire the skills necessary to advocate for causes that matter to us and the Jewish Community at the state and national levels. After you will hear about the Never Again Education act and be inspired to question your peers’ education regarding the darkest period of time for the Jewish people; and learn what you can do in your local school with hopes of changing the way public schools teach about the Holocaust.
